We are scheduled to go in at 7pm tonight to begin induction.  I'm super nervous because I want to do this without an epidural and I know it is more difficult to do that with an induction.  But, by this time Wednesday, I'll have a baby!  Best of luck to all of you still waiting for you babies!
(I'm being induced because my amniotic fluid levels were a little low and they've never been very sure of my due date - it has been anywhere from 1-1 to 1-15).
Re: Induction Begins Tonight
Good Luck!!!! I'm scheduled for mine to start Thurs night. Everything will be fine and by this time tomorrow, hopefully you'll be holding your baby!!!!
I was only 1 cm when I went in, but was having contractions and didn't even realize it - they didn't hurt. The Cervadil was not comfy to have them insert it and then within a few hours my contractions got stronger. I had really strong contractions (without Pitocin) until about 5 a.m. when I got the epi. I progressed all day on my own, but my little guy couldn't fit through my pelvis. I pushed for about 2 hours and he was still at 0 station and his heart rate was erratic so OB called for a c-section. I had Tate about 20 minutes later via c-section.
Epi was wonderful....DH and I joked around the entire day waiting for me to progress and I felt no pain really even though my contractions were strong. I vomitted several times during pushing which was weird cuz I didn't feel bad, but nurse said it was from hormone changes. I was very disappointed to get the c-section, but it was the best thing to do. Recovery has been tough, but I was very mobile about a week later.
GL to all and hope your LOs get here soon!?
Good Luck! I go to the doctor tomorrow to talk induction. They says they wont let me go more than 10 days past my EDD. So hopefully by Sunday or Monday I will have my little girl to hold.
GOod luck! We go in tomorrow morning at 40 weeks and 5 days for our induction! Hope you're holding your little bundle soon!
Trish you and your Dr. usually work together on a time/date based on your progress so far, dilation staus, etc. I had mine start at 6 am and they told me to eat a good breakfast before I went in b/c after they started the medicine I couldn't eat anymore, although I did get the liquid diet lunch, broth and jello, but puked it up later, but I digress...
No other prep work, mine went great, under 4 hours! Though I did get the epi though, and it helped me to relax and dialate so quickly, I highly recommend but if ur gung-ho on no epi, GL!
Thanks for all the info - this is my 2nd - very into the epi (did it w/ my first). I also coudn't eat w/ my first for probably over 30 hours - which sucked . . . . which is why I asked : )
