A co worker just came to my desk to chat and was looking at a picture of me, DH and our dog. She said to me, "you should start dressing your dog up since you are never going to have babies to dress up".
NICE....Thanks for making me feel worse than I already do. Some people do not have a filter when they talk.
Re: Open mouth insert foot... co-worker vent
Holy shiiiit!!! I would have throttled her.
Did you say anything back? You were probably too shocked to respond, I probably would be.
I will never understand why people say stuff like this. I agree that she needs a throat punch.

FFS! WTF is wrong with people? And we're the bitches bathing in bitter. Yeah, um I don't think so.
((hugs)) I'm so sorry you had to hear that.
You are right... I was too shocked to respond. It took me a while to process what she said and then I got sad. I wish I felt comfortable enough to just blurt out to everyone, that says something stupid like that, what we are going thru, but most people do not understand. I do not want to listen to other peoples opinions on the subject either. It's just better this way.
This.
Wow! How rude! Sorry you have to work with someone like that!
(hugs)
It's really shocking to hear what comes out of people's mouths sometimes. I don't know about anyone else, but my mother did NOT raise me to speak to people like that. Although if someone said that to me, I might respond with STFU! I'm kidding but that is so unclassy.....
ETA: Unclassy to point out that you are childless or anything personal like that. MYOB!
I get like that when people say outrageously stupid things. It sucks because after the shock wears off I have a plethora of things to say to them, though it's usually too late.
However, in this case, if she is a good work friend then I would probably say something to her...most likely over email because I am a wuss and hate confrontation. Something like 'listen what you said about me not having kids, was really insensitive and made me feel like crap.' and then go on to tell her it's the equivalent of saying something about *insert*something related to her life that she's sensitive about.
If she's not a good work friend I would just assume she's a huge idiot and slept with the boss to get the position she is in now (regardless of what position she's in, because you know she's too stupid to have gotten it the old fashion way) and feel sorry for her.
as my nephew would say, what a jerk face
what a d-bag!
i'm sorry you had to listen to that crap.
((HUGS))
i seriously want to kick her
