This is first on our (still long) list, but we have always pronounced it Ee-LIE-us. I was searching meanings on a new site and the pronunciation comes up as e-LEE-uhs.
What do you think?

I have always pronounced it Ee-LIE-us. I have a friend who has it as his own middle name, and another friend who named her son Elias, and in both cases it's pronounced Ee-LIE-us.

Ee-LIE-us. Know two of them, and that's how they say it. It's also just my general understanding of how the name is said in the US.
However, a friend wanted to give his kid this as a MN, but decided to be kre8tv and go with the Greek mythological name "Eleus", which is apparently actually pronounced more like "ileus", the condition in which your digestive tract slows down/stops. So they had to go to SSA and legally change it to Elias, pronounced the way they intended, and everyone understands.

You can even listen to it being pronounced. This is how my former student pronounced it as well.

I would pronounce it the same way you are.
