  • OMG My LO has been like that today too. She woke up at ten and had a few random 10 to 15 min naps but was awake until 6:45 this evening. She then slept for 3 hours woke up and ate and is now back asleep. She was so crabby and overly tired all day. I think it is b/c I got her use to napping in her crib and with the sound machine and we were at MIL's all day so she just couldn't sleep no matter what I did. she is now a month old. However I think a lot of us agreed that the 3 rd week tends to be a crabby one!

  • My LO did this all the time.  Not for 6 hours, but 3 or 4.  She'd wake up the second I would put her on her back.  Out of curiousity, I put her on her tummy and she feel right back to sleep instantly.  Even with the AngelCare Monitor, this bothered me, so I moved her to her side.  At some point throughout the night she'd roll to her back on her own.  But letting her sleep on her side helped to keep her asleep without killing my anxiety.  It def. made the transition to her crib from my chest so much easier the last two nights.  Not sure if this will help you, but it's an option.  Also, I've started to put her to sleep when she's drowsy, not when she's fast asleep, and this has seemed to help.  Even if she does wake up, she cry out for a few seconds and soothe herself to sleep.  I think this is because she'd get freaked out not waking up where she fell asleep, but by putting her in her crib when she was drowsy allowed her to know where she was before and after she went to sleep.

  • Is she eating a lot more too?  She might be going through a growth spurt so she may be feeling all out of sorts. This is supposed to be around the time they do.  When DS is having a rough day, I just end up holding him so that way he can get some sleep.  To me it's more important that he get sleep than how or where he sleeps at this stage.
