Hey everyone,
Sorry for everyone's losses...This sucks so badly.
I will be joining you guys.  I had my 3rd m/c this week.  I haven't put up a signature or anything yet, but here's my history:
We started TTC in February and found out we were pregnant in March.  That ended in a chemical pregnancy.  I m/c naturally and the dr. told us to wait 3 cycles.
In June we found out we were pregnant again.  When we went for our 8 week u/s, we found out it was a blighted ovum. The dr. told me I could either get a D&C or wait and see if I could m/c naturally, and I chose to wait since I am a teacher and school was starting and everything.  A few weeks later I ended up having the D&C.  The dr. told us to wait at least 1 good cycle before trying again.
In November we found out we were pregnant again. We saw a healthy, strong hb at 6 weeks and everything was going great.  When I went back at an 11 weeks, there was no HB and we found out the baby stopped growing at 9 weeks.
They can't do my D&C until Thursday.  I'm really upset about this.  They said that the operating rooms were booked up and the dr. takes off on Tuesdays.  Has anyone else had to wait this long?  It seems like most people do it the next day!  I'm going in tomorrow to sign all of my pre-op papers and do the bloodwork, which I know has to be done, but I've even heard of some people having their D&C the same day!  Also, if for some reason I did begin m/c naturally this week, would I go to the ER or something? They are supposed to run tests on the fetus this time to see if they can figure out what went wrong.
Sorry for the long email but thanks for listening. I would appreciate any input on this D&C business!
Re: Joining you guys & Question
Sorry for your loss. I've been there and it sucks big time!
I don't realy think I can answer yuor questions. My first D&C was teh next day after they found no HB and it definitely helped to get the physical part over with. With loss 2 and 3 I had to wait for the same reason you are (scheduling) except my OB only operates only Tuesday. With loss #3 I had to wait a week and a half...not fun.
They probably won't do anything for you at the ER unless you are filling more than a pad and hour. If you do pass tissue, you can save it to take to be tested but don't be surprised if they tell you they can't. I have heard of them testing tissue regardless but they told me (4th loss -natural MC) that they couldn't test it unless it was "fresh". I would call the Dr if you can to get specific instructions abou this. I did and it still wasn't the right instructions but you can try.
I hope you get some answers and are blessed with a take home baby soon. I'll be praying for you.
PAL/PGAL Welcome
First of all I am very sorry for your losses. Your story is so similar to mine it is erie- down to the 3rd loss- heartbeat at 6 weeks and we found the loss at the 11th week. I am also a teacher. The hair on my arm is up!
I did not have to wait for the D&C- I am sorry you have to. I imagine if they want to run tests, you may want to go to the ER. I am sure they will be able to answer these questions tomorrow.
I hope you are able to get the answers to help you move forward. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so so sorry for your losses. I don't have advice/info on a D&C, although it does seem to me that a lot of women get them within a day or two. I just wanted you to know that we're here for you.
T&P and hugs
Wow, I looked at your profile and our stories are similar! I said a little prayer that everything will go great for yall this time around! Congratulations!
I'm so sorry for your losses. It completely sucks and is ridiculously unfair to have to go through this over and over. I'm so sorry. I don't know much about D&Cs since my losses are early ones, but I think if you start to m/c naturally at home then you don't have to go to the ER unless you want to. However, if you find that you pass the baby, you may want to save it for genetic testing. (I'm sorry, I know that sounds so weird....)
Big hugs....I'm sorry you are here, but I'm glad you found us.

I asked today what would happen if I started m/c naturally and she said to call the emergency number they have and they would let me know what to do. They are going to test the fetus for genetic things, and they will also do bloodwork for MTRFR(?) and other things after my hormone level has gone down. I had to wait an hour at the dr's office and then another hour at the pre-admit place in the hospital, but my sister came with me to cheer me up and keep me company. I didn't break down and cry like I did last time, but I think I'm still just kind of pissed off and numb...
