Any one going to be a bridesmaid in 2010?

My bestie from hs is getting married in August. Tomorrow morning is the dreaded dress shopping with ALL 9 of the bridemaids, plus moms/aunts/etc. She knows all about IF and everything so there's no worries about that. But I'm concerned about the dress...

Last year I was in a wedding in July and assumed that I would pg (oh simple little mind) so I ordered a size larger. It was kind of a mess cause it was so big and just didn't look right after it was altered.

I would like to avoid that again, but I'm not really sure how to. Any ideas? Or am I destined to look ridiculous??

Yup, I'm in a wedding in July for my BFF... I'm MOH. My "dreaded weekend" was last weekend and it was quite depressing because I was with three of the other BMs all of whom are pregnant! Yes, all three BMs are pregnant and are all due within 3 weeks of each other..... I had to just suck it up. I ordered one size smaller than I am now in the hopes that I can take it in A LOT!

I'm in two weddings in July and we're going shopping this coming weekend! I've decided to order the size I am and I'm just praying that I have this huge stressful situation of having to pay for the same dress twice because I'm pg and can't alter the one I buy. Wouldn't that be nice?

I'm hoping we're not ordering them tomorrow.... Since there are going to be so many people there, and I know she has no idea what she wants, I don't think it'll happen. But I'd like to be prepared if she falls in love (again) so I don't hold everything up by needing to "think". I believe she said we need to order them by mid-Feb at the latest.

Im a MOH in a wedding in July and we bought our dresses 2 months ago. The bride wants all the dresses which come in tea length to be shortened to two inches above the knee. So since I have to have it altered anyhow, I let the sales lady talk me into buying the dress 2 sizes bigger than what I am "just in case". This will stink to have to alter it so much but on the bright side I am a very chesty girl (36/38 DD/DDD depending on the bra) so at least I know that regardless of the alterations, the "girls" will be covered. Good luck to the bridal party of 9, my goodness! And good luck to all the bridesmaids this year, its a good distraction but watch out for the bridezillas! Devil

I'm going to be a bridesmaid in April...I did the opposite of you. I ordered one size SMALLER thinking I could lose the 15 lbs I needed to before then (I did the same thing with my wedding dress last year and lost 30) but instead I've gained 10...so now I need to lose 25 lbs. but the end of next month in order to not be humiliated.

I would maybe just order it in whatever size you are now...if they need to take it out, you should have enough time for them to do that. I didn't catch your siggy before I hit respond so I'm not sure when you're cycling. Do you have to tell them the size you want right away? August is pretty far off, maybe you can let them know or change it later on?

I'll find out more details tomorrow about when we have to have them ordered by. I'm 99% sure that this month's a bust, and next month we're planning out 1st IUI. So we'll see......

I am...we went w/ TwoBirds Bridesmaid. Amazing dresses, and they easily accommodate baby bellies....which I WILL have by July. (Hear that, ovaries?)

i would really think about what kind of treatments you may be having then (if you are not pregnany by then of course!!)

I was in a wedding this past august and i waited to the last possible moment to order my dress (figuring i could gage my pg or treatments better). well I ordered a size bigger, and actually was n the wedding 2 days after trigger with OHSS and the dress was TOO SMALL!!! it was awful. i want to burn every picture i see from taht day.

I am in a wedding on August 20th. I am not sure what I am going to do about the dress. We plan to do another IVF in the spring, but I've learned not to bet on having success. Plus, even if it does work and the baby actually sticks I think I would only be about three or four months along so I might not really be that much bigger at all. She hasn't chosen a dress yet so I think I have some time to figure it out.

I'm in a wedding in April. My dress actually came in the week of New Years. It fits (needs some minor alterations). I bought it true to size figuring that even if I was PG I wouldn't be far enough along for it to be a huge issue (I ordered in October). What I am doing is waiting until the last minute to alter it. I may be in the middle of an IVF cycle by then, I might not, who knows I might even be PG and I might be exactly what I am now.

I would order what fits now and deal with whatever you are when the time comes. Or ask how long you can hold off on ordering.

I'm a bridesmaid in June. I am going to order my dress a size too big. I think it just depends on the material and if it can be altered down at all. Wishful thinking but I've been stuck with a dress that was too small before and that was simply awful!

I am in two this summer. MOH in June and bridesmaid in August.

The one I need to order for June I have to order in a larger size than normal because of my boobs, so that gives me some room in the belly area if needed. I'm waiting as long as possible to order the one for August. I can order any style as long as it is in the particular color the bride wants.

I'm having the same dilemmas though. What to do, what to do?

I'm the MOH in my best friend's wedding in May. She wants to go this Saturday and try on dresses and such... not looking forward to it. When they got engaged a year ago I said what if I'm pregnant during your wedding? Silly me.

i am in a wedding in october and I am praying to be pregnant. I have been going back and forth on what to do about my dress. I think i am going to get it 1 size bigger and also order extra material just incase. Luckily the dress has a corset back. I will probably only be 6 months pg at the most since i am going to take a break until april so i wont be too big for the wedding.

I'm a bridesmaid in June and ordered the dress in the size I am now. I felt better doing it that way instead of being that hopeful that it might happen!! If it does happen I will probably not be that big hopefully!
