  Are you looking for a Restaurant to accommodate a family party?  Are you looking for a kids place?  Or a little of both? 

   I know of a few places that you might be interested depending on your needs.  I'm also planning a birthday for my son (2nd birthday) and looking for a new/fresh idea.

  i'm not sure how many people you are having or where you are, but my friend had her son's 1st bday at cheeburger cheeburger - theres one in westfeld and one kind of near the freehold mall.  its decorated like a 50's diner type of place so its kid friendly and family liked that it was kind of low key and the food was mostly burgers, fries, hot dogs, and stuff like that. they played old 50's type of music and the whole theme of the party was 50's.   it was really cute.

  I am in Central Jersey. That sounds interesting, Cheeburger Cheeburger.

  I suppose I am looking for something that is both kids/adult friendly. I have friends with and without kids... and want everyone to enjoy.  Ironically, I went to a 50's type place today that was cool, but I am thinking I will have something like 40 people.
