Update on Doctors appt for those who care

So I went to the doctors on friday since AF still hasnt showed. She prescribed me provera which im so happy about. I started taking it today.

What cracked me up was How shocked she was when she busted out a a piece of paper and proceeded to tell me about charting, CM etc etc. I listened to her, but it was hard for me to kind of sit back and not chime in about all of it.

It was definitely amusing to say the least. I also think I want to find another Gyno doctor, this lady is pretty dated.

Charting here I come!

  • That's great news that you got something to help with the AF situation!  It does sound like your doc is a little out of touch with this century.

  • Countdown to AF! Hope she shows soon. Hey, at least she recommended charting (even if on paper). At least she didn't tell you to make sure to have sex on CD 14 lol!

  • I'm glad there's a light at the end of the tunnel ! Hopefully next cycle will be your luck one Wink

I haven't talked to my doc about charting yet, but I think that if I have to change docs, it will be the first thing to be discussed to make sure they are up to speed. If they don't understand/go along with it.....NEXT!

  • Why was she shocked? I'm a little confused at the second paragraph. I don't know much about provera but I hope it works for you!

  • It sounds like you're on a good track!  Good luck with charting. I hope some good things are coming your way...and I love your siggy pic.

I gave up on charting after it stressed me out so much last month.  I'm a quitter. Embarrassed

  • That is great news blueeyes.

My old ObGyn was the same way....He like, "It is in kind of EXTREME but you could take your temperature every day if you want to know if you are ovulating for sure."

It took all my will power to not say, "No shiit."

I hope the provera works and AF shows up soon.

When I told my OB that we were TTC, she told me to have sex twice a week and didn't even mention charting. lol

    For realz? That's crazy.

Oh and my OB didnt seem too worried about me not getting AF yet. Im used to the 60 days that everyone says on here, she was saying over 120 days. Im like whaaaaaaaaa??

  • GL with provera.  When I mentioned charting to my Gyno, he said (something to the effect of) "good, I didn't want you to think that I was asking you to do anything odd or work to hard at this."  I understand that it can be stressful if (and when) I might analyze a temp over a pattern, but I have never considered it hard.

  • GL getting AF up and moving!  And yes, if you're not comfortable with the recommendations of your doc, I would definitely find a new one.  I love both my OBGYN and our RE, and it makes all the difference in the world.
