1st IVF Follie Scan

Today is day 5 of stims and I'm already pretty close to triggering. I have 6 follies: 16 and 15 on the right, and 14, 2 13's and a 12 on the left. Lining is at 8mm.

I expected this quick response because my body has always responded to the meds. I was hoping for more than 6 but given my low AMH, we knew it was a probability.

But I'm concerned about how fast the ovaries grew. Does this mean there is a chance they may be immature? Not quite ripe? I assume they'll back off the doses, but at this point, there's only so much they can do to slow it down. Thoughts?

Did they say when you might trigger? Given those sizes I think you'd be stimming for a few more days and then hopefully all or close to all of those follies will yield mature eggs. Good luck!

Nope, but I'm assuming in the next 2 -3 days.

my last IVF they had me trigger when the lead was 23 mm and I was growing at about 2 mm a day so if your math is similar you'd stim for 8 days which is right on!

I had a couple of follicles about that size after 5 days of stims. They had me add in the ganirelix and stim for a few more days to let the others catch up. I trigger tonight after 10 days of stims. So, I think they will probably let you go a few more days.

This exactly. Follicles grow (on average) 2mm a day, give or take. There is good chance that some will catch up to the larger ones, although only time will tell.

I don't think just b/c they grew faster means they won't be mature. Rest easy, since there will be a few more days.

My RE said it is ideal to not trigger in less than 8 days. But usually you don't trigger until follies are in the 2 cm range so you might well make it there!

Yay for great first scan!!!!!!

I think they will slow it down, but who knows? Mine was very fast I only stimmed 4 days or so once I started IVF meds (I had been stimming with clomid then switched to follistim within that same cycle though for about 2 or 3 weeks).

I think another day or two of stimming will help them grow to the perfect size. It sounds really good though hon! I was only able to stim for 8 days on IVF so don't feel bad if you only make it another day or two. Some people are just faster responders than others. It sounds like that lead follie is going to drive your trigger time. But the others will grow 1-2mm each day, so even if you triggered in two days the smallest will be somewhere around 16mm which is still great!GL, I'm so excited for you!!!
