Question from a lurker...

Hi Everyone! I EBF my DD who is 3 months old. I have to older children but had no success with BF them so this is all new to me. I haven't had many problems so far and my supply is always pretty good (thanks to the help of fenugreek) This week I came down with some sort of stomach bug and my supply is gone. She fuses at the breast screams because nothing comes out. I have  pumped to try and build it up a little and i am only getting 1 oz combined ( i can nomally get 5-6oz) Is my supply next to nothing because I am sick or are my days BF over? :( Thanks for any help!

    There's a good chance that your supply is low because you're sick and possibly dehydrated.  It should rebound once you're feeling better.  Drink lots of water and nurse, nurse, nurse.  Good luck and I hope you're feeling better soon.

    I agree with PP.   Be sure you are drinking enough, and make sure your LO is having frequent wet diapers (indicating he is fully hydrated as well).

    If possible, do a "nursing holiday" - get in bed, stay in bed, eat, drink, and nurse nurse nurse. This really works!
