New Jersey Babies

New Here! Hello!

I just wanted to introduce myself. I just found out Sunday that I am pregnant and was hoping there would be some info here about OB's and Hospitals. SOOO if any of you lovely ladies could be of any help I would REALLY appreciate it. I live in Hoboken and hopefully soon my husband and I will start the house hunting process. I have heard Hackensack is a great hospital and holy name too... but really I feel like I have no idea where to start.

Hope you guys are having a great Thursday!!!

And thanks in advance!

  • I have heard about overlook too. What's your take and how did you choose? WHose your OB?
  • I LOVE my doctor and he's based out of Overlook.  His name is Dr. Abu Alam, his office is in Summit, not too far off of Rt. 78 so it's a straight shot from Hoboken.  He has office hours on Wednesday nights until 8pm.  So far the office hours haven't been an issue for me, I work in NYC.

I know about 10 other woman who have delivered with him and love him.

  • I am literally JUST pregnant. Have to find an OB to get the confirmation and such. I am trying to not be too excited since it's pretty common to miscarry before 8 weeks. After that I am allowing myself to tell others (ie fam and such.) So EDD is 9/15/10.  I live near the shoprite.
  • my ob is Dr. Saphire in englewood he is amazing!

i delivered at Holy Name and they to were amazing

    congrats and good luck!

  • Congrats! We were living in Hoboken and moved to Bergen County about a year ago. I delivered at Valley in Ridgewood which was great. I have heard wonderful things about Hackensack as well.
