~~ZERO SPERM / AZOOSPERMIA CHECK IN~~
This is a place for any of you who are experiencing the world of azoospermia. Whether you were recently diagnosed and are trying to make sense of it all, or you have started preparing for IVF or IUI, or have decided instead to move on to adoption. Please join in the group by posting! Check in is on Thursdays.
Learning that the chances of having a biological child with your husband are slim to none is not easy, and is, frankly, devastating news. This check in is a place where we can share how we are coping (or not) with our new realities, provide information we've learned through investigating our options, adjusting our lifelong dreams and plans, and dealing with the situation.
I'd like to extend an invitation to those who have been fortunate enough to experience pregnancy, childbirth, and/or adoption. Ultimately, all of us desire to create a family. The experiences and insight of those who have reached that goal will be quite helpful to those of us on that road.

Re: ~~Zero Sperm/Azoospermia Check In~~
Not much new to report here! Just getting back into the swing of things after the holidays.
Nothing new here either.
We don't have cable, so we don't have access to as much Trash TV. Although, I did watch 16 and Pregnant online. We mostly watch a lot of sitcoms.
Hi Ladies
Update - tonight is 4th night of clomid, IUI #3 will be next week at some point (most likely Wed or Thurs). Praying 3rd time is a charm

It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

My ET was on 1/12!
Trash TV...hmmmm Real Housewives of Any County!
As of today we finally have a calendar with actual dates! Tentative date for ER is March 4th so this is all finally starting to seem real! I'm on the antagonist protocol which seems to be the less common one since there is no Lupron..anyone have experience with that protocol?
I'm sure I watch some trash tv shows but can't really think of any...I'm not a very consistent tv person...my favorite shows are sitcoms like According to Jim and King of Queens lol
EDIT: craschi, I just looked at the last check-in and didn't realize you had replied to my post about how hard it is choosing a donor so I just wanted to say thank you!! I think my problem is they offer so much information on the donors that I feel like I DON'T want. I'd like to pick the basics, nationality, maybe height, eye color etc. but I don't want to know their hobbies, what they went to school for or anything like that. I guess that sounds crazy, but I feel like no matter what it's not DH so I almost want to pick one without thinking too much about it. I guess I just don't want it to get too personal.
DD (5 years old) from IUI in 2012
TTC 3rd and final!: IUI #1 in progress!
How exciting! I'm sure time will fly now that you have dates set up!
GL Worms, Newsbaby and Aimee! Hoping for good news from all of you :-)
Update: OMG I am giving a real update! Woot Woot! We are meeting with the 2 of the 3 clinics in our town on 2/2 and 2/9. We had done all the initial testing to start our D-IUIs back in late 07 before we went on a saving and debt paying break. I think I will have to repeat everything except the HSG. I hope I don't have to redo the HSG it sucked!! So our next step is to decide if we are staying with our original RE or switching clinics and then we need to pick a donor and get this show on the road. I am so freaking excited!!! I can't believe it might actually be our turn soon
.
QOTW:
Oh I am a TV junkie! I love the bachelor, real housewives, the hills, big brother. I pretty much watch every reality tv show but I don't consider them all to be trashy...he he he!
Me - DX Hashimoto's Disease, Hypothyroid, Rheumatoid Arthritis
DH - DX Azoospermia - Sertoli Cell Syndrome
DS-IUI #1-4 BFN IVF #1 - BFP! It's a boy!!!
GL Worms, Newsbaby, Aimee & YellowDaisy!!!! How exciting for you!
No news yet here, but we have 3 appointments lined up next week in 2 days. I'm so nervous at to hear all the results, but definitely looking forward to moving forward and hopefully having a plan of some sort!
QOTW: I think my trashy shows would be Melrose Place and 90210 - are those what you would consider trashy shows? Oh, and maybe Young & The Restless Soap Opera
From Aimee: I don't want to know their hobbies, what they went to school for or anything like that. I guess that sounds crazy, but I feel like no matter what it's not DH so I almost want to pick one without thinking too much about it. I guess I just don't want it to get too personal.
(forgot to do the Quote thingy)
Aimee, I know exactly what you mean. It took us a looooonnnggg time to finally make our selection for the exact reason you mentioned: I had already chosen DH as the person I wanted to have kids with. Unfortunately, I was not finding someone exactly like DH. After a while, we both began looking at the personal information more of a way to find someone that we could see being friends with, more than as a replacement for DH.
Looking at it through that perspective, along with the physical characteristics, helped us come up with our final selections. But again, it did take us (more like me) a long time to get to that point.
We have our first appointment with a Reproductive Urologist schedule for 1/28. I'm scared and excited to get this show on the road!!
Trash TV - hmmm... I don't really watch all that much I guess. Big Love just started a new season and that's the show I consider my guilty pleasure right now.
Good luck to Worms, Newsbaby, Aimee and YellowDaisy!!!!
Craschi, are you going to find out the gender, is your anatomy u/s soon?
OOTD: Do not have cable but love reading updates on the Housewives shows and I admit I find the Maury paternity shows quite amusing too sometimes, I love how the guests all suddenly become geneticists when arguing their points.
Oh, silly me, how did I miss that? Congrats! Wow yay! He must have been really showing his stuff to see that early!
