WDYT - Rocker/Recliner too fugly for nursery? PIP

DH bought this rocker/recliner before we ever met.  It now sits in our spare (storage) bedroom b/c there is no way that thing was going in my pretty living room.  It was pretty pricey and it is super comfy.  I don't really like the look of most of the gliders that I have seen either.  I was thinking about trying this in the nursery instead of buying a glider.  I like that it reclines and that it is plenty big that I can easily sleep in it (if needed).  The only problem (other than looks) is that my feet don't reach the ground if I sit all the way back.  I'm wondering if this will be a problem while trying to BF my LO?

Oh, and we are having a boy and doing a sports theme nursery with brown, red, and blue colors.

  • If it's comfy, that's alllll that matters!  You'll be spending a lot of time in that chair ;)

  • I would never give up my rocker recliner for a glider.  EVER.  Best ugly purchase I made.  I can not tell you how many times I had to sleep with DS in it.  I BFed and practically lived in it for 6 weeks till we settled in.

  • It may not be attractive, but if it's comfy, then that is a good thing.  Try a throw blanket on the back to make it match the room a bit better.

  • I would try it, looks pretty darn comfy to me! I spent many nights sleeping in our LazyBoy recliner with ds#1.  You could try an ottoman if you feel like you need your feet on the ground but I would almost always sit cross legged with the boppy on my lap.
  • If it fits in the room... use it!  As far as your dangling feet.  That wouldn't bother me one bit.  But I also like to cross my legs while I sit and I'm sure that's not going to change once the baby arrives.

You can always get a nursing stool to put under your feet if you don't want it reclined while you're nursing.

  • you could always cover it if you think it's TOO ugly and get a little footstool thingy if you need your feet to touch when BFing.

  • Just get a $30 nursing stool and your feet wont dangle :) Speaking from someone who wishes she already had some sort of recliner I'd say go with it!
  • lol I'd put it in the "mancave" not in the nursery!
  • I think that a throw and a really cute pillow can do wonders for it.
