2nd Trimester

Do people look at your belly FIRST?

People who know I'm pregnant (esp. work people that I see maybe every two weeks) will look at my stomach first, then my face. As if to see the progress, that really isn't happening as of yet. I really just look like maybe I've eaten too much or have a little beer belly.

Maybe this is what well-endowed girls feel like when people look at their chest instead of their face.

Anyone else get this?

  • All the time!!  I hate it, especially when my husband does it.

  • yup! They look and say "oh it's rounding out" for the most part. Thanks, azzshat, I can see that!
  • Yes, people at work do it constantly.

  • YES and YES! :) I like the attention though--its thrilling! (I was bloaty at 13 weeks, and the actual bump appears around 15 weeks, so mine is SUPER obvious). I even got an "Aww!!" from a woman at Target last week!
  • Even my mom does it

  • LOL, yes.  I was just thinking about this yesterday.  And even if it's not the first place they look the eyes eventually go there.  It's so awkward.

Maybe I'll be happier about it when it's actually noticable to strangers that I'm pregnant. Believe me, no complaints here, I am SUPER thrilled to be having a baby. (After I posted, I thought, oh I hope people don't think I'm ungrateful to be pregnant). I'm excited to have my bump, just want it to be out of this in-between stage. My face is acting up again, so maybe the hormones are working up and we're in for a growth spurt?

  • If people I work with would just look and leave it at that I would be ecstatic!  However, they all feel like they have the right to come touch my bump (which I do have to admit is sticking out quite a bit now).  I'm like please dont touch me!  especially a few weeks back when it just looked like fat...I'm like please dont rub my stomach its weird and uncomfortable.

  • Yes.  For some reason it especially bothers me when DH gives it prolonged stares.  I don't know why.
  • Haha, yes! And sometimes I enjoy calling them out on it when they are trying to be sneaky! I will say, oh, no belly yet...or something along those lines! Smile

  • All the time. Especially, at school. What is so weird about being pregnant at 22? It's frustrating, to say the least.

  • I "caught" 2 people this week at work looking...but there is nothing to see yet!

  • OMG!  I was just telling DH how annoying this is!!  I want to say, "yes, we all know I'm pregnant...try not to stare!".  It's driving me nuts!
  • Yep! But what I love is when my husband looks at my belly first when he comes home and goes "Hi Sweet P" then says hi to me! Its adorable! Prety much all my family does this and I love it!
