3rd Trimester

AW- DD's big sister class was a success!!!

Last night I took my daughter to her big sister class, she has been waiting for months for this day to come!  She had so much fun learning how to diaper the baby, feed the baby, dress the baby and all sorts of other "baby" things that she can help out with.  She also got to design a onesie for Cole and that was the highlight of the class.  She is so much more excited about her little brother coming!

I would highly recommend any ladies with other children to see if your hospitals offer classes like these for siblings...I think it was a great tool to get my DD ready for being a big sister!

  • How cute! How old is she? We wanted to do it with DD but our hospital isn't offering it bc kids under 13 aren't allowed in the hospital at all right now. This even includes the lobby and ER.

  • That is awesome.

We really wanted DD to do this class too, but I'm in the same situation as the PP and our hospital has temporarily cancelled the Big Sister classes b/c of not allowing kids under 12 in the hospital.

  • We did ours earlier this week.  I second highly recommending it.  They even had their own special tour.  A baby had just been born and taken to the nursery so they got to see just how small a real baby is.  DD got a Big Kid t-shirt, a certificate for taking the class, a coloring book about the hospital, a thing to color that says "I'm the big sister" to go in the baby's bed at the hospital, and we got some pamphlets about helping the older kids adjust.
