I bought two pairs for my girls... and they never wore them. They still have the tags on somewhere. They are cute and all, but I don't get the point either.
Where we live long pants are too warm most of the time and the baby legs come in handy when he is crawling around the back yard (as pictured below). I do think they look funny and everytime I put them on Andrew DH starts singing "Fame"

I have to admit, I had no clue when "babylegs" were when opening this post, I thought you literally meant you baby's legs... then when you were asking "what's the point of them" I laughed.
Ahhhh are the like leggings? I would use them just so I wouldn't have to pull down her tights when changing her.
You and me both. I just don't get it. I have a girlfriend who was just obsessed with them with her 1st child. It was crazy. Every picture you saw of her little guy he had them on!
you know what's so funny? I found an old picture from when my sister was a baby (she's 42 now) and she was wearing a little dress and my mom was holding her and you could see that she had little white "baby legs" on...so they're not new.
It's too cold for them to be useful for us right now, but I loved them in the fall where I would put N in a dress but when we went out it got too cold. In the house I sometimes put her in them with a long sleeve onesie on. It helps when she's on her knees a lot.
Eh... they're just cute. I mean when your baby has fat rolls on his thighs like mine does there's just nothing cuter than a onesie, baby legs, and a little thigh muffin top
They are sort of pointless... just like tons of other baby things... it's all about being adorable with no practicality whatsoever

LOL! Now I'm singing "Fame"!

I have a few pairs. DH doesn't love them. I put them on DS a few times over the summer when it was hot enough for just a onesie, but he was crawling so I wanted something on his knees.
Now that it's cold, I use them as an added layer when going out! It's been -30 windchill some mornings going to daycare, so he gets babylegs, socks, pants, longsleeved onesie, sweater, coat, hat, mittens, shoes, and a blanket.
Plus, when all his pants are dirty, they're a good substitute. I got them half price on clearance, so I don't feel bad about the purchase.

They are perfect for FL mommies bc its cold in the mornings and hot in the afternoons, its much easier to just put a onesie on them and though the baby legs on and then take them off! Plus I like my girls to always look super cute and well...they are SUPER cute hehe!

I've always wondered the same thing. We have 4 pairs and Cal hardly ever wears them. They dig into his chunky thighs, and they're just not practical since some skin is still exposed. The only time they have really served a purpose is when I've used them basically as long johns, under his pants on bitter cold days this winter.

This! Ella has two pairs and I LOVE em cause they are cute, but useless.
I love them! We use them around the house. A long sleeve onesie and baby legs. It's nice to protect their crawling knees. Also, it works great with a sleep sack over it to give them just the right amount of warmth.
I'm also not a huge fan of tights so I like them with dresses.
I bought a pair only because I have an outfit for ds that is a cute little summer outfit that is a 3 month size. By the time summer rolls around he won't be able to wear it because he'll be to big. I wanted him to be able to wear the outfit so I got the babylegs so he can wear it now.
But I wouldn't buy them just so he could wear them. I don't know if it's different w/ a girl.

They work really well in SoCal where it's a little chillier in the morning but then warms up as the day goes by. I actually use them more on her arms at this point. Put her in a short sleeve outfit with them and as it gets warmer, just take them off. That way, she doesn't have the extra layer of a sweater and you don't have to change her to give her short sleeves. Viola!

if you cd they are awesome with dresses and skirts! easy diaper changes and tights are usually too tight with cds.
Yep! I had some tiny newborn ones made a couple years ago, and we've used the brand name ones for her last winter and this winter. I don't know what we'd do without them -- she wears them multiple times a week and has (in colder weather) since she was just weeks old. I've never used tights on her, ever. BabyLegs probably wouldn't be as important for toddler boys since they don't wear dresses, but I love them for infants, as well as for toddler girls.

Yeah I think they are silly, and will go one step further and say I don't think they are cute...

Ditto!
I got a pair for DD this Fall. I put them over or under her pants, just to serve as an extra layer for when we go out because it's so cold.

ditto this..except when your LO has chunky legs they don't fit right..at least the ones I got
