I am only 29 weeks, and over the past few days the pressure in my ribcage has grown more and more painful:( She has grown right up to my boobs and it feels like crushing pain... My upper back is also feeling the effects. Seriously, I have 11 weeks to go and this baby is going to double or triple in weight. I plan to work up until DD, but now I have no idea how I will manage! I am 5'3 so not terribly short, but have a short torso and am carrying unusally high. I wonder when and if she'll drop a bit? I wonder if there is anything I can do other than take Tylenol to ease the pain?
Anyone else?
Re: Whiny Post: Short girls come on in! Horrible ribcage pain:...(
I'm 5' on a good day, so I sympathize. For me, it hasn't gotten any better. LO is in an unstable lie, so he flips between breech, transverse, and vertex. His head is currently in my diaphragm. If your LO is head-down, you'll find some relief once he/she drops. With DS and DD it was a noticeable difference; it felt like I could finally breathe. This may sound silly, but if you have a bathtub, fill it pretty high and try to roll over onto your belly. The water lets you float a bit and takes a lot of the pressure off of your ribcage. I've been doing this every night and it feels really good.
I'm also short - but baby's head has been head down pretty much from early 2nd trimester. However he/she loves to kick me in the ribs on the right side which is very weird. Also, my baby's head is very very low down, according to my midwife. This has caused me to have sharp stabbing sensations that are very intense, especially when he/she turns over.
THIS!! Feels good!!
It hurts sooo bad.... I know! ... I have dropped and I hate to day it but I still feel auful. The ribcage pain has been my worst pregnancy wo. I use icepacks under my bra.. It helps while there in there. Try that.
