So I kept racking my brain as to what I could do for T to help her with her sleep issues. I remembered that when she started sleeping in her bassinet (prior to that it was her carseat) I put the headrest from her carseat in her bassinet for her so that she would feel more snuggled. So I've been trying to think of what I could do for her in her crib. I remembered that when I was pregnant someone had given me one of those things that are filled with seeds and herbs and you can either heat it up in the microwave or cool it in the fridge and it goes around your neck and on your sholders. I heated it up (it doesnt get hot, just a really nice warm) and laid it in her crib so that it went around her head and sholders...almost like the headrest did (she still doesn't roll over so we don't have to worry about her laying face down on it). We also got the wedge that helps to elevate her crib mattress to help with gas or acid reflux.
Well 11:30 rolled around...which is the time she's been starting her crying sessions. She cried for just a second then turned her head and I think felt the warmth and snuggliness of that thing and fell right back to sleep. She ended up sleeping until 2:30 and I put her down last night at 9:30. So I'm thinking it really helped her and almost gave her the feeling of us holding her. I'm going to try it again tonight to see how it goes! Crossing my fingers it helps make her feel better!
Re: Got creative...better night last night
Yup! She's always really good at doing that. I usually change her, nurse her if she's still awake...last night she only did one side and then right to sleep. I've been just letting her stay with me after that feeding because her and I have been getting so little sleep I figure it allows both of us to get a few good hours.
