2nd Trimester

16 wk Dr. appt today. Why am I always nervous?

It is my 2nd baby & I would of thought that this time, I wouldn't be so nervous every damn time I go to the doctors! I will feel much better when I feel the baby moving & he/she checks out OK on the sonogram (in a few wks).

I have my NT scan in 2 1/2 hours and I am a nervous wreck. I shouldn't be, but I am. I can't seem to shake it. I always fear the worst. [sigh]

    Good luck!

  • I know what you mean. Yesterday I had my third appt. and I was extremely nervous until she found the heartbeat right away and said everything was going great! I also think I won't be as nervous after the big u/s, or when I start feeling LO move, or when I start showing but I think I am just psyching myself out.

  • You're right - it's so much better once you can really feel the baby moving every day.  It shouldn't be long!  Fingers crossed for a great appointment for you today!
  • Good luck at your appt today. I am sure everything will be fine. I agree though I get nervous every time I go in. I was feeling some discharge this morning (TMI) and I had a panic thought that I was bleeding so I ran to the bathroom and of course it was only discharge. Its normal to feel nervous.

  • I know how you feel! This is my second too, and I still get nervous. Tomorrow is my big U/S and as excited as I am, I'm still nervous too!

  • I'm showing, feeling the baby move and I have a Doppler I use all the time and I still get very nervous. I do enjoy being pg but I also think its very scary. I will probably worry until lo is in my arms and then of course will be a whole new set of worries!
  • Once you hear the HB again you'll feel better!  I think we all get a little nervous.  :)

  • I agree that it's completely normal.  It makes me feel better to know that others have felt this way.  I also agree that once I've started feeling movement, I'm much less nervous about appts (except for stepping on the scale...I don't think I'll ever get over that anxiety!).

     Good luck today w/your appt!
