Baby choking/gurgling at night?

Most of the time my baby is happy and STTN.  But every once in awhile she screams all night, seems like she is in pain, refuses to eat, and sounds like she is choking...like there is a gurgling in her chest that keeps waking her up.  Like she needs to cough to get the gook out but she doesn't know how.  I'd say this happens maybe twice a week, and usually in a row.

Any ideas about what this is?

    Could it be gas? My baby makes some awful noises with her gas - and I can hear the gurgling in her stomach on those nights.

    DD does this too.  She's getting her shots on Thursday.  I asking about it then.

    the coughing, gurgling and screaming when she wakes up could be acid reflux...my lo is going through that now and our dr. put him on a med for reflux

    Aidan coughs and sounds like he's choking a bit when his reflux is acting up. He's outgrown his dose so every once in a while he has moments of reflux pain and symptoms. Have you called pedi to see if it may be reflux? Does she have any other symptoms?
