I'm Overdue and Have a yucky cold

Colds suck no matter when you have them, but why must I get one a day past my due date. LO could be here any day now and I don;t want to be pushing and hacking up a lung at the same time!

But now I have some worries - If LO is born and I am sick, does that increase the chances she will be sick? I am thinking that My body is already producing antibodies for this cold, so actually she may be okay, but maybe thats wishful thinking?

I am also wondering if my body is slowing itself down because it knows I am sick. For two weeks I've had horrible pains, cramps, and pressure. Yesterday when I really started feeeling ill, all that eased up. Does your body put the brakes on preparing for labor if it knows you are sick?

These are all questions I'll ask the doc tomorrow, but I am just curoious if you guys had any answers or thoughts today...
