Crib or Bed?

I'm sorry if this has been addressed a thousand times but I'm very pregnant and very tired.  I did do a quick looksee at the recent posts and didn't see anything but if I missed it I apologize.

So, my daughter(#1) will be 19mo when #2 is born.  #1 is still in a crib and #2 will be in a bassinet in our room for 3-4 months.  That means that by the time I need to move #2 into the crib, #1 will be about 22mo.  I WAS thinking about transitioning her into a bed a few weeks prior to moving #2 into the crib but I've since been told that I'm nuts that and that I should keep #1 in the crib as long as possible, especially if she's sleeping well...and that I should buy/borrow another crib for #2 (from a reliable source of course)...

What are your thoughts?  Did I mention I'm tired (probably like 99% of all of you on this board)!!  Sorry for the ramble!

    My DD will also be about 19 months when #2 is born. We're planning to put her into a bed when DS is about 6 weeks old, so he can use her crib. My family and friends also think we're nuts, but I think DD will do really well and if we don't think she's ready by the time DS is ready to use the crib we'll hold off a little while on his transition. We will not buy a second crib.

    My daughter will be 20 months old when #2 arrives.  We plan to keep her in the crib for another 2 months and then move her to a bed and move #2 to the crib a few weeks after.  I know some people think we are nuts but I also know others who have done the exact same thing... I just really do not want to get a second crib and I think if we did it would be for such a short time before we'd have to move her anyways.  So we are just going to make it work...

    DS will be 23 months when #2 is born and I plan on keeping him in his crib as long as possible!  His little life is about to be rocked enough, I don't want to throw anything else new his way if I don't have to.  Obviously if he starts climbing out, we'll transition him....but until them, I'm keeping him in there!  We bought convertible cribs for both.  Good luck!

    Thanks. I see both sides and I've argued both with myself... : ) I think I'm just going to have to wait it out and see where my daughter is in 5 months...it'll be a whole new ballgame at that point but I keep forgetting how fast they grow!!
