DH and I are considering going on a cruise in June for our 5 yr anniversary. We have not been on a real vacation since our honeymoon to Mexico. DS will be 2 at the time of the cruise but we are not sure if we should take him or not. He has never spent the night away from us (just have never had a reason) and the cruise we are interested in is 6 nights long. I am wondering if that would be to long of a time?? I know the rooms are quite tiny so that might be an issue. Plus, would he even enjoy it? I guess I just feel guilty leaving him home from our first vacation because there is no telling when we will go on another one. He would stay with his grandparents if he doesn't go.

We're taking DD on a cruise in 6 weeks, so obviously I would.
But we're also taking a 9-day anniversary trip in July without the kids, so obviously I would have no trouble leaving them behind.
To me, its about what you want out of the trip. For a romantic anniversary trip, I'd definitely not take the kiddo. It would give you a chance to reconnect as a couple. But if you're just looking for a family vacation around your anniversary, go for it.
