Babies on the Brain

I want to start my maternity leave now.

I am up and down all day at work. I have to walk back and fourth from my office to the waiting room every 5 minutes. I get that I am really slow now because my back, hips and pelvis are killing me. But, does that give co-irkers the right to give me dirty looks and roll their eyes at me?

Two of my co-workers keep giving me dirty looks like I am moving to slow with the patients. I am sick of it. They even zoom around me in the hall and huff and puff.

I am about to kick someone.

    I'd trip one of 'em.

    Sadie is not impressed.

  • I am with ya on just stopping work now.  I have back-to-back classes a lot of the time and the teachers dropping their students off in my room won't even stay with them an extra two minutes so that I can pee.  I always have to end up leaving the kids alone.

Plus it feels like someone is stabbing my who-ha every time I move!

I'll beat up your coworkers if you beat up mine!

  • I would totally walk even slower when they were behind me... but I'm a biitch like that.
  • I'd like to start ML now and I am only 30 weeks. I hear ya, sister.

  • I tried my damnedest to work up to when Gabe was born.  I made it to the Friday before my EDD (EDD was on a Tuesday and then I was a week late) and finally threw in the towel.  That week off of work was the best decision I ever made, even though I didn't know it would be a week, lol.  I felt like I got a bunch done and I was able to rest when I needed to.

  • I will totally trade places with you today! You can put your feet up in my office and lock the door.

I totally need to be out walking back and forth up the halls to get this baby going! (And I'll happily trip your co-workers, while I'm at it.)

    haha me too

  • I always said I would work up until I gave birth. I started my leave a week and a half before she was born. I should have gone out at 36 weeks (CA pays you for those weeks) and I will definitely be doing this with baby #2.

I wish CA paid me for those weeks! (We don't get any state-paid leave in this school district.) I would have been long-gone, taking walks on the beach and arranging the nursery.
