Dumb question: when I put Sam in the car seat and snap-n-go, do I need to fasten all of the harnesses? I have been, but it's a bit of a pain when I have him in a sleep sack since I have to change him. All of his warm fleece footed onesies are too big right now (bought 3 month sizes instead of NB). I could always just put him in his light footed onesie then use extra blankets...
Oh, and Sam is up to a wopping 7lb 8oz as of yesterday. He was born at 7lb 2oz but lost weight in the hospital (down to 6lb 7oz). The pedi was happy with his weight gain so that's good. He's just a skinny dude! 50th percentile for length and head but only 25th for weight. Still, he's gaining and for this EBFing mama, that's good news!

Re: Car seat/stroller safety question
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Yeah you need to fasten all of the harnesses no matter whether it is the snap and go or a regular stroller.
I would dress Fen in footed one piece outfits and then cover him with a warm fleece blanket. He always stayed plenty warm.
Well, I think the correct answer is yes, you should always harness him in the seat. He'll be safest that way in case you hit a bump and tump the stroller over, Or in case you lose control of the stroller down a hill, etc.
I used to on occasion not strap DD in all the way. But then we saw the mom in Australia (I think it was Australia) that turned her back for just a second and her stroller rolled out in front of an oncoming subway type train. Luckily the baby was strapped in and was not injured. It's a frightening video. Since I saw that, I always strap her in.
They have these fleece wraps that zip up around your carseat. I can't remember what they are called, I'll see if I can find a link for you. You might try one of those.
Thanks ladies - I figured as much and would probably get him in the seat in a sack, then think better of it anyway
. We're going to go for a walk. Mama's gotta get OUT of the house!!
ETA: I should also mention that the seat has a bundle-me "lite" on it so it is pretty warm, but I will use an additional blanket or two. Thanks again!

It's called a bundle me... we got one but never ended up using it. We didn't walk much when it was cold and by the time we were walking she didn't need as much cover.

Congrats on the weight gain for the little guy!
Wow he is doing GREAT!! Good job E!
I did hit a curb or two back when Jack was in the SnapnGo that made me glad he was all buckled in - so use your best judgement - but I would vote, yeah, have him in there securely.

We have one of these we got from Target (Eddie Bauer brand) and it works great. Warm fleece on the inside and nylon on the outside. It fits over the carseat like a shower cap.
Halo makes a sleep sack that works in the carseat...I don't have one, because I found them after DS grew out of that size, but it might help you!
