Cincinnati Babies

does this sound about right?

Swimming lessons at the western hills mercy plex and ymca are $75. At the health plex it is 30 min. 1 day a week for 6 weeks. I don't remember the details about the ymca. Are these prices the norm? It seems so expensive.

  • I just checked silverlake. Non member price is $96 for 1 day a week for 8 wks of half hour.

  • At the Y, those are non-member prices. They are either twice a week for 4 weeks or once a week for 8 weeks.

    Abby & Emily: 12/31/10 6lbs. 2oz. & 5lbs. 7oz.
  • We paid about that for our classes, doesn't seem too costly to me.

  • Are you a member at either facility?  It sounds like those are nonmember prices which would be about right (and yes does seem crazy though)  We have memberships to the Healthplex and I know that's higher than what we paid.
  • Yes they are non member prices as we are not members at either location.

  • That is definitely the non-member price at the Healthplex.  I thought the price was reasonable for not having to join, honestly.  It breaks down to about $12 per class.  I'm not familiar with the Y.
Justin Thomas joined us on 8.4.07
    Tyler Anthony arrived on 9.21.09

  • I took Nora to the Y for swimming. I think it only came to $35-ish for 6 weeks. We aren't members. That was 2 winters ago though, so it may have gone up.
  • You should check at the YMCA. We are members but our 7 week class is only like $17 so I can't imagine the non-memember price being THAT much higher
  • At the Springfield Township Y the cost of swim lessons for non-members is only $48.

  • Seems high to me, but could be regional?? We took them at the Kettering Rec Center up here and they were twice a week, half-hour lessons for six weeks. It cost $42 non-resident and $32 for resident.

  • I just called two of the Y's in Butler County:

    Fairfield Township Y:
$75 for nonmember 7 week session, 40 minute class, once a week.
There is a $25 "Program Member" fee yearly if you are not a Y member.
Members are $35 (monthly family membership $75.44, enrollment waived in January)

    Lakota (Liberty Township):
    $60 nonmember for 4 weeks, 2 classes a week Mon/Wed eves, member $26
$30 nonmember for 4 weeks, 1 class a week Sat AM, member $14
Membership fee waived in January, annual family pass is $653, can be paid lump sum or monthly automatic payments.

  • We are using the Anderson HealthPlex as non-members.  That is what we are paying.
