Toy/Book recs for 2-3 year old?

Hi! My little guy will be two at the end of February and I figured I should start birthday shopping for him! Any toy or book recs? I would love something educational for him? Right now, he loves his kitchen set, anything Barney or Elmo, ABC's, etc.

    My DD loves any book by Mo Willems, esp. the "pigeon" series (Don't let the pigeon drive the bus, Pigeon wants a puppy, etc.)

    The "If you give a ___ a ___" books by Laura Numeroff are favorites here, too.

    Does he have a tricycle? My DD rides hers every single day.

    DD's favorite books right now are: Llama Llama Red Pajama, The Giving Tree, and Harry the Dirty Dog. 

    We got her a two-sided easel for her birthday (one side a chalk surface, the other side magnetic and dry-erase) and she loves it!  

    She also has a talking wooden ABC puzzle that she likes a lot. I think it's from Melissa & Doug.

    DD is really into any of the Cat in the Hat books and anything by Robert Munsch.

    She loves a book that I had to special order from the UK called "Shhhhh!"

    My DS loves almost all books, but his favorites are by Sandra Boynton and Thomas the Tank books.
