Hi all-
A few months ago I had a BFP and then got AF at the usual time, which I assume means a chemical pregnancy. I am now at 5 weeks with a BFP! however, Im really concerned that being RH negative I might still need the Rhogam shot? I hadnt thought about it before and then one of my family members mentioned it to me. Has anyone had this problem and what did your doctor say?? Thanks!
Re: chemical pregnancy and rh negative help!
I'm rh neg. When I was pg with DS they gave me the rhogam shot around 20 something weeks. After he was born they tested his blood. If he was positive I would have gotten another rhogam shot. He ended up being neg so I didn't need another shot.
What is your DH? If he's also neg you won't need a shot. However if DH is positive you will.
I know I will need one after this baby, but my main concern is if I have already been exposed, but Im wondering if that is even possible with such an early chemical pregnancy
Call your OB just to double check. Being that you're pg again I think you're OK though but that's just my non professional opinion.
Not true.
My neighbor just had a chemical pregnancy and she was given the shot.
This. They'll test you as soon as you do the blood work.Don't worry, the odds are you're totally fine.
They give you the shot any time you miscarry just in case...I got one when I m/c at 5 1/2 weeks PG even though it probably wasn't necessary.
