Lovey covered in vomit! How to clean?

Luckily it was just watery vomit and wiped off well, but Mr. Monkey STINKS.  Can stuffed animals go in the washing machine?  If I just put him in the dryer with a dryer sheet will the stink come out?

Any advice is appreciated!  TIA

  • most can go in the washer

  • I put Hadley's stuffed animals through the washer and then let them air dry.  They do not seem to have suffered any ill effects.  :-)
  • i threw dd's lovey in the wash and it was fine.  i even dried it a little.  i think it probably needs a good washing!

  • I put them all through the washer and dryer

  • I wash it in the dishwasher (by itself)--it was recommended to me because it gets them clean, but doesn't toss them around potentially ripping limbs or losing their eyes, etc.  Then I air dry for the most part, and then put in the dryer with a blanket and Bounce for 5-10 minutes.

  • Most stuffed animals can go in the washer no problem.  For safety sake I usually use the delicate cycle.
  • If there is a smell to it, I would kinda rinse it with vinegar. When DS threw up on some clothes a while back, I washed them in the washer but they still smelled awful. (I had washed all the vomit off first.)
