OB in West Chester

Hi! Does anyone have any OB recs in the West Chester area? We are currently TTC and I have had 2 very bad experiences with 2 OBs in the area and want to try to find a new one ASAP. Also, I know a few people who went and "interviewed" a few OBs before deciding on one. Did anyone else do that? If so, do you just call and say you want to meet the OB or do you need to have a reason to go in?

 Thanks!

I don't really want to knock them, I know others that liked the practice, I just had 2 very bad experiences. I will say the one was Chester Co OBGyn just because I'm sure a million people will give me that one because I think it's the largest around here.

Yup, ccobgyn is the largest practice in wc, and i've been there for over 17 years and won't change, but i can see why some people don't get good vibes from some of the docs since there's 10+ of them and 6+ NP's.  Not sure if you tried her, but i've heard good things about Celeste DeBaptiste, but i know that she's in practice by herself which is a concern for some patients. Some of my other favorites, Christina Ellis and Dr. Beninati I believe dont deliver anymore.  I've also heard good reviews of Melissa Delaney. If you're looking to deliver @ CCH your options will be limited, here's a link to the OB's that deliver there: https://www.cchosp.com/cchpage.asp?p=318&m=458

Try Associates for Women. I absolutely love Dr. Brazerol! He helped me through a very difficult pregnancy. The NP are top notch as well- I don't think I'll ever switch.

Definitely try Associates for Women's Health. I see Dr. Mercurio and he is fantastic. Dr. Brazerol is also great! :) I m/c twice and have had difficulties with this pregnancy and they have been so, so supportive. GL!

I've been faithfully going to a practice I LOVE in Exton (right on Rt. 30) called Great Valley OB/GYN. There's 3 women in the practice (Dr.'s Wheeler, Coldren and Wilson) and they're all wonderful. They only deliver at Paoli Hospital though, so if you're looking to go through CCH, keep looking. Hope you find someone you like!

I see Suburban OB/GYN at their Brinton Lake office, and love all the doctors there-they deliver at Crozer hospital though, which is in DElaware COunty, but all the Doc's are great and I had a wonderful labor and delivery experience with my first child with Dr. Dookhan (sp?)

What was your bad experience with West Chester OB-GYN if you don't mind me asking (PM if you don't want to share with the world)?  I go there but I would like to know of any (potential?) problems since I tend to pick Dr's out of the phone book for insurance.

I was going to recommend CCOB/Gyn as I have been going there for 11 years, but it sounds as if you have already had a problem there. i do really love my NP - Beth Carney and my doc was Hotmer.

I am actually switching practices to GV OB as i have heard so many awesome things about them and because i want to deliver at paoli

So I'm not sure which doc you saw, but I have had very good experiences with Dr. Askinas and I am a HUGE fan of Dr. Mansfield. They're both infertility specialists (we also had trouble TTC) and are very knowledgeable. I particularly like how much time Dr. Mansfield takes with us, is willing to answer all my questions and learn more about us as a couple and patients. Dr. Askinas was able to diagnose my issues and prescribed a course of treatment that resulted in success. Good luck with your search!!

I am a patient of Associates for Women's Medicine in West Chester. I see Dr. Mercurio and am really happy.  He helped me through a pretty rocky beginning and is wonderful!

There are only 5 docs in this practice and not all of them deliver, so it does not feel so much like a factory.  The staff is very attentive and acknowledge you as soon as you walk into the practice.

There are both male and female and male physicians in the practice as well, so if you prefer one over the other you are covered.
