Dandruff?

Anyone else noticing their scalp being much more dry. I just got out of the shower and am blowdrying my hair and I already see dandruff. I've never had dandruff before. Is my only choice for shampoo Head and Shoulders?

Re: Dandruff?

  • Mine's been terrible lately!  I just scrub as much as I can with my regular shampoo and try to rinse out as much of the conditioner as possible.  But I'm THIS close to switching over to Head and Shoulders...

  • I am in the same boat, my scalp is usually oily but has gotten very dry with pregnancy. My hair sylist suggested using shampoos and conditioners with tree tea oil. I am using a PM Tree Tea Oil conditioner and it seems to help. Also, if you don't have to, try not to shampoo everyday. The shampoo can strip oils from your scalp and make it drier, I will condition daily but only shampoo every third and it has helped.

I can't stand the smell of Head and Shoulders and am doing everything possible not to use it.

  • I had horrible flakes up until a couple weeks ago! I tried a bunch of different things, but its seemed to get better on its own.  I only shampoo at most every other day and have been trying to avoid getting conditioner on my scalp.  Head and Shoulders has worked just as well as Aveda's dandruff shampoo and conditioner and is a lot less expensive!  Good luck!

  • Pantene makes a "dry scalp" 2 in 1 that works pretty well for me.
