I'm JW b/c MH's counts & motility are low, but I'm wondering at what threshold is it considered SEVERE? My RE never used the word severe, but I think maybe he just didn't want to scare me & now I'm sitting here wondering...
My RE never used the word "severe" with us either but you can see from his first SA our numbers were pretty low. They have steadily gone up though so that's good news. After his first SA our RE suggested donor sperm which we haven't done yet...

I have no clue about which threshold is considered severe. If your RE hasn't used the term, try not to freak out too much. I know that is easier said than done though! ::hugs:: MFI sucks donkey balls
btw, I consider our MFI severe b/c we had 3 zero SA and one SA with only 4 sperm, only 1 that was actually motile. I have no clue whether we are azoo or just severe MFI. ::sigh:: Again, MFI sucks.
TTC since April 2008
Me: PCOS/Amenorrhea DH: Azoospermia due to Y Chromosome Micro Deletion
IVF w/ ICSI on hold until further notice
We never got the word "severe", but DH's urologist said, "this just isn't going to happen with the numbers you are working with."...he was referring to us getting pregnant without significant medical intervention. The numbers we were working with at the time were 3.5 million/ML and 30% overall motility. We have 50% motiltiy now but the count is still pretty low.

I wondered the same thing. My husband has a count of 800,000 with 1% motility and 1% morphology. I've never been able to actually seen "severe" defined, but I got the impression that under 1 million is considered to be so. However, I saw a woman on here post that she got pregnant, and her husband's count was only 100,000. Remember... it only takes one good one.
Good luck!

jen, there are many who have it a lot worse than we do. I don't think we're considered severe.
