Am I the only one?

I don't understand why a woman would TRY to get pg while engaged.  Why not wait until after the wedding?  I am not addressing anyone in particular, I have just read too many times, "We were engaged and decided to have a baby and then he changed after I got pregnant."  I am not saying you have to be married to have a baby, but if you are planning on getting married anyway, why put the cart before the horse?

That is all.  Vent over.

  • Ha - there is one poster that has three older children by one man, a set of toddler twins by another, and is getting married later this year, but has already started IVF with dude #3. THAT is insane.

  • I can't say much. I tried to get pg before STBXH and I got married. DD was almost 6 months old when we got married. He was going through a divorce at the time, so we had to wait.

I love DD, but it was a pretty bad plan.  I probably should have waited for someone a little less married.

(here is where I have to promise I didn't break up their marriage. STBXH was living here and his wife was in California, they had filed for legal separation. They didn't have any children)

  • My cousin did that, why... I have no clue. She was still going through a divorce at the time, was engaged to her now husband (who we all love! He really is the sweetest guy on this earth), so they decided to get pg. He is in the Army and knew there was a chance he could be deployed. They got pg 2 months before the wedding, he was sent to Iraq, and she had Preslee' 4 months premature. He has barely seen his daughter because he is on involunatry something another. He stayed to see his baby be born, then left 2 weeks later for the next scheduled deployment. Basically, the Army gets to keep him as long as they want because he didn't leave when they wanted him to. Preslee' is almost a year now. It's sad. He has a relationship with her via Skype. He's supposed to be getting out of the Army for good today, I guess we'll see how that goes.
