Well hello, my name is Amanda and I am new to the whole "Baby World". Here is some cliff notes to help everyone give some good advise.
My husband and I have been married for 1yr. 1/2 and have been together for 8 years (we were high school sweethearts!!) Obviously we have discussed children but for the longest we never wanted to have any. We didn't want to follow the pattern of so many young couples and end up regretting anything. That is until recently.... I don't know if it is maybe because there have been a lot of births here lately in our circle of friends and families but it is a pretty hot topic in our house right now!!!!
I am 24 yrs. old and he is 26.
We both have very good jobs, a home that can certainly accomodate a little one, new cars (well not brand new but newer!), come from very close families, have 2 boxers that we love unconditionally!
Ok so with all of that said, I would really like to get some input about a couple of things.....
Did you always want to have children or did it just hit you one day?!?
Are you ever actually "Ready" to have a baby?
Is it normal to catch sh*t from people you didn't expect to catch it from when you tell them that we're thinking about have a baby?
Is it normal to be nervous about making the decision?
I love hearing everyones story and I am so open to advise so please feel free to really share you thoughts! Thanks so much and I look forward hearing from you girls.....
P.S.
Sorry for the whole "Bride" siggy I can't remember how to get rid of that.....
Re: Baby on the brain?!?!

^^THAT is a cliff's notes version.
I am President of Baby World.
And I vote you off the island for that wall of words.
"It's a child, not a cheeto" Thanks mmariluh!
"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
Did you always want to have children or did it just hit you one day?!? Yes I always knew I wanted children.
Are you ever actually "Ready" to have a baby? We made sure we were financially ready, but we also made sure we enjoyed our lives as young adults first--took lots of vacations, spent lots of time w/ friends--did a lot of the things we knew having a baby would make more difficult, so that now that we're parents we have no regrets.
Is it normal to catch sh*t from people you didn't expect to catch it from when you tell them that we're thinking about have a baby? IMO that should be kept to yourself, and then you won't have that problem.
Is it normal to be nervous about making the decision? Yes
And...holy freaking huge siggy pic.
::golf claps:: well put, hippo.
GL OP.
ps, your knot pic is loverly and pink, but ginormous.

This. And I agree about the giant bride siggy.
:humps hippo's leg:
Also, OP your siggy is ginormous. If it's going to be that big, at least make it a picture of a cute baby a la the parenting boards. Kthxbai.
I am not sure where to start.
We always knew but both of us were never ready at the same time.
We have been trying for 4 years so we get a bunch of grief from people who have no idea regarding why we have not had any children.
Even though we want children it is still scary at times.

Did you always want to have children or did it just hit you one day?!?
I have always wanted to be a mother.
Are you ever actually "Ready" to have a baby? What do you think?
Is it normal to catch sh*t from people you didn't expect to catch it from when you tell them that we're thinking about have a baby?
I don't ask for others opinions when it comes to matters of my ute. If someone did have an opinion, I would tell them to kiss it.
Is it normal to be nervous about making the decision? Seriously, again, use your head.
SAHM to two sweet girls, both born at home; Baby #3 in 2013!
I always thought I didn't want children, but one day I started thinking maybe I did. Luckily my husband had also changed his mind.
I don't think anyone can ever be completely ready.
I would just not tell anyone you are thinking about it. It's really no one's business except yours and your husbands.
It's a huge life altering decision, so yeah, I think it's normal to be nervous. I'm still nervous now that I'm pregnant, and it took a lot of work to even get here.

A. That's all I got too.
B. I love you.
I didn't read it but tend to agree with hippo on most things.
My BFP Chart~
1) Nope. For quite awhile I didn't want kids.
2) No. I am still not sure I will be ready when I give birth to my phantom kids.
3) Yes.
4) Yes
i didn't read it because its to damm long, but i'm going to go with this.. just cause i can.
All hail the president!
holy obnoxious OP.
and I'm pissed I missed the huge Bride siggy.
:outs::
The better part was the count up since their honeymoon.
I support this motion.
You seriously came back two days later to say this?
Why not recheck your post, IDK, the day you make it? This is what's known as a post and run, and I find them the most insulting of all. To come back after the fact and call these ladies names just puts the cherry on the jerky sunday.
FYI: Many of us have our view set so that New Posts jump to the top...so if you thought you were sneaking that in, fail.
wow i am so glad i opened this to find out that I'm following the pattern of having kids with the man i love at a young age....jeez if i didn't have you to tell me i was going to regret it i don't know what i would do. thank you for the insight.
seriously 2 days for a response is a little pathetic...but something tells me you are very familiar with that word
Thank you.
