We used condoms only when we were sophomores in college, and then I went on the pill junior year. We basically said good-bye to condoms after that; we were each other's onlies, so it wasn't too much of a concern.
And now that I have had the "pleasure" of two three-month TTA cycles post d&c's this year - I remember why we were so quick to get rid of them. They SUCK.
(It is hilarious, by the way, to think of mine and DH's sex life in college. We were 19 and ridiculous. Sigh, youth).
Before we were married we used two forms--we did not want a baby. After we got married, we ditched one method, and I stayed on the bcp.
It was based on a post from today. I thought it was weird how many posters said that if they were not ready for a baby they would be using more than one form of birth control.
Nope, because we would have been fine with me getting KU. We'll use two until it's okay for me to get pregnant again (if you count charting to avoid as one).
Condoms and BCP. And then the last 9 monthsish before we ttc charting and condoms. I never trusted BCP on it's own because I almost always skipped at least one pill a month. So not necessarily the BCP that I didn't trust, but myself lol. I think after I have the baby we will just use condoms and attempt charting once the baby sttn. I never want to go on hormonal BC ever again.
In college I was on BCP and used condoms. When we first got married and I didn't have health insurance we continued that way. When I was past the waiting period for pregnancy to be covered on my insurance plan we ditched the condoms, and soon after the BCP as well.
Charted to avoid and used condoms (all the time) as well as abstaining when I started getting O signs. Right now we aren't ttc (it wouldn't be the end of the world if we got pregnant, just trying to focus on other things) but we are cognizant of when O time might arrive and we just abstain because we don't want to do condoms- my husband hates them.
Fuuck TTC - I'm moving on.

"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
When I was on the pill, we did pull and pray (if that even counts as b/c). Now I have an IUD and we rely solely on that. If I get pregnant now, it will be earlier than planned but I'd be thrilled. DH would be shocked for a day or two and then thrilled. So for now, we're just using one.
Before we were married either we used condoms or once I was on bcp, that and pull and pray (not really a method.)
After marriage only bcp. Until they made me insane and now we chart and sometimes use condoms and sometimes use pull and pray and sometimes abstain. Just depends on the day.
But we aren't against me getting pregnant. Just wanting to wait for my disability to kick in in March.
Re: More than one form of birth control
No.
We've only ever used NFP {the best we could b/c of my cycles}.
ETA: We were both virgins when we got married, so I never had to worry about it until then.
yes and no
Yes when I was a teenager and it wouldn't have been ok if I got pregnant
No when I was stable in my career and it would have been ok if one form of b/c failed and I got pregnant
LMAO...interesting question considering today's events.

Flame away- we never used anything.
This.
I know this is not the point but if I was not married, I sure as heck would use two forms of BC.
