what do y'all think.....
make the investment and get the more expensive chair, knowing it will last and be made well and be super comfortable.....(i can get it for about 560- and will probably have 200 given towards it from a great grandmother...)
or save a few hundred dollars and go for a cheaper chair sight unseen and hope for the best...??
after buying a breast pump and having to buy a swing, another video monitor, and a double stroller (this is ds#2), just not sure if i can justify spending the $$$ on it, but i also don't want to regret it....
we didn't have one with ds #1 and it we regretted it- so now that the time to buy is here, do we bit the bullet, or go the cheaper route?
Re: splurge for pbk rocker or go cheaper?
We were debating whether or not to go with the Pottery Barn chair.. my biggest thing was comfort and I found another chair that was just as comfortable so we went for it. The PB chairs prices get to be deceiving because they sell the frame and the cushions seperately and charge additional fees for the shipping.
Don't get me wrong I love their stuff, but if you can find something that is just as comfortable.. I would say go for the other chair.
IVF #1 - BFP (6dt)
Unassisted Pregnancy #2 - lost at 15w6d due to T21, severe heart defects, and fetal hydrops
I would get what is most comfortable. I have several pieces of PB furniture and I wouldnt say that it is made better than other pieces of furniture that I have from much cheaper places.
For instance...I have JCP crib and I think it is much better quality than my neighbors PBK crib.
I also think my solid wood eat in kitchen table from a local store/no name brand is MUCH better than my PB dining solid wood dining room set.
Just because it is PBK doesnt mean it is high quality...in my opinion!
And...
I have never sat in their glider rockers...but they do look amazing
I would totally skip the PBK one, and I LOVE PB. However, a baby chair isn't something you'll necessarily use for years and years like other furniture, so to me, it just wasn't worth the high price tag.
I just blogged about this yesterday (link below)- we decided to go with a knockoff from Walmart of all places. I know. Ick. But we have the chair put together and I LOVE it! It was only about $340 for the rocker, ottoman, and slipcovers, and IMO it looks just as nice as the PBK one (the picture is on my blog). It's comfortable, probably not *as* comfy as the PBK one I tried out but certainly sufficient for feeding and cuddling a baby.

Personally, if I had to have the PB Rocker I'd tried to find it for le$$ on Craigslist, consignment or eBay. But that's me...I hate to pay full price. But I love good quality things. You'd be surprised...I see PB baby stuff on Craigslist all the time.
