Anyone have a good bowling game for DC?

(and yes, we have Wii bowling already!)

Last summer my sister sent DD a cheapie bowling set. But the pins would never stand up, even though we tried shaving off some of the plastic on the bottom, etc. So I quietly threw it away before Christmas. And wouldn't you know, DD has spent the past three days trying to find this game?

So, does anyone know where to find a bowling set that is weighted at the bottom or something so that it'll actually stand up on our carpet? TIA!

  • I wish I had a recommendation for you!

I have had 2 different bowling sets for my kids and neither of them were really decent.  One was "plush" pins made of cloth, and the other was plastic.  The pins fell over too easily with both of them.

A good similar toy might be Toss-Across/Beanbag tic-tac-toe.  My kids have one of these and it seems to fill the same "niche" as toy bowling.

    DS, born 8/25/04 -- 7th grade
  • Loading the player...
  • Toss-Across is a good idea.  Another option is Silly 6 Pins, which is a bowling game and the pins are on the board.  Bad thing?  The pins talk.

  • We just got the "My first bowling" set from the One Step Ahead site.  It has six owls (all different colors/sounds) and the ball.  They stand up fine on our carpet and KB loves them!  Hope this helps!
  • Thank you all!
