Anyone use Nuvaring?

I'm thinking of switching from the reg bc pill to Nuvaring. If you use it, do you like it, can you feel it, how hard is it to get in/out? I've always used the pill and it was really nice to not have to worry about taking it everyday for a little over a year.

Re: Anyone use Nuvaring?

  • I did use it before DS. I couldn't feel it; DH could but he didn't think it was bad. It was really easy to get in and out. It never came out on it's own. It was so much easier then the pill.

Whether I liked it or not might not be what you want to know.

  • loved it. putting it in = simple. taking it out = a little harder but not bad.

i couldnt feel it. DH could feel it slightly but had no complaints.

  • I loved it.  I thought it was easy to put in/take out.  I never felt it in there.  I'm going to go back to it someday!

  • Biggest mistake ever!

I absolutely was inLOVE with it the first week or so. It was convenient. I couldn't feel it. Husband wouldn't of known if I didn't tell him. Easy to plave and remove. ordered 2 more months and then after 2 weeks side effects started.

Daily headaches and a rash. The rash started with a small patch on my legs that i thought was razor burn and in days turned into major itchy rash all over body which needed steroids to control. I removed the ring after 2 weeks. This was Jan of last year.

Fast forward to 1 year later and finally starting to have my skin back under control. my headaches subsided upon discontinuing the Nuvaring but not so lucky with itchy rash. After being treated by my OB, my PCP, 3 different dermatologists, 3 rounds of steroids, 2 antibiotics, and 6 lotions oils and ointments, and 1 year later.... I finally have relief.

It started as an allergic reaction, then from all the scratching and dryness led to staff infection then led to aggravated irritated angry skin which lead to me developing excema.

So for me it was a huge mistake, which seriously affected my quality of life for a year.( i know this sounds dramatic but if you've ever had anything that itches uncontrollably then you know what i mean)

But if I didn't have the reasction I'd probably still be inLOVE with the Nuvaring.GOOD LUCK!!
