I am starting to worry about delivery day. Lillian will be 18mo... what did you do or what do you plan on doing with DC#1 during labor and the few days after? Will DC be with family? DH staying with them? I'm starting to worry about what to do with Lillian... And it doesn't help my OB already mentioned c-section if this baby is going to be close to Lil's size or bigger. I want to be home with her as soon as possible...

Re: Mammas of two or pg again...
A friend of ours stayed with Teagan at home until my mom came the next day after Kelsey was born. My mom then stayed with us until the day after we got home from the hospital. DH would go home each day to bring Teagan to the hospital to see Kelsey and me, but now our hospital won't allow anyone under age 18 to be in the nursery ward of the hospital.
Honestly, I thought I would want Teagan there a lot, but I was so tired and just wanted to relax. Teagan being there was hard, because she got bored easily and wanted to run the halls, and that was not happening lol. Short, sweet visits were nice. Anything longer than that? Oh hell no.
If all goes well, we plan to have K at the hospital with us for the birth. We don't have too many reliable people around, and I don't really know what else to do. Then, dh will go home with her and new baby and I will stay at the hospital.
With it being a 2nd delivery, maybe you can leave the hospital early even if you have a c/s?? Not sure the rules, but my friend just had one and went home less than 48 hours later. Good luck!!!
DS will be with my parents. In fact, I already told my Mom to plan on taking him camping with them on Mem. Day weekend just incase baby comes early.
After baby comes I think my Mom will probably come quite a bit in the beginning.
During labor we have NO idea how things'll work out. We hope I start labor at a reasonable time so I can call either one of my neighbors or our babysitter to watch her while a family member travels up (2hrs) to take over. If I go into labor at like 3am, we've actually considered taking DD with us to the hospital and having the family member just pick her up there
It's not perfect.
While I'm in the hospital we'll have MIL, my mom, and SIL watch her with DH coming home as much as possible for at least bedtime and some time during the day. He'll also be bringing her in to me for visits if they allow that come May.
I'm gonna miss my girl, too
But I'm also looking forward to getting to know DS a little bit before getting down to business back home lol
When I went into labor Isabella was at pre-school. We had arranged for MIL & FIL to take her while I was in labor and for the 3 days after.
I had Olivia @ 5:41pm but didn't get back in the room with her until almost 9pm. MIL, FIL & Isabella were waiting for us. She was older -- just turned 3 -- and was very aware of what was going on and it didn't go well. She was scared and wouldn't come near me with the IVs & monitors hooked up to me. She asked to leave as soon as the baby came in the room.
We didn't want to push anything on her so we let the ILs take her home. She came up one more day while I was there to visit and it was another short visit.
MIL stayed home with her and did fun activities, baked, did projects -- basically whatever she wanted. She would have rather stayed with them than us. She even cried when they dropped her off the day we cam home from the hospital.
She didn't warm up to the baby for a good 2 months, but thats a whole other story, lol.
Grandparents will come stay with her while I'm in the hospital, Mike will come home to see her but will stay with me at the hospital at night. Either my parents will stay with us the first couple of nights to help out or Maggie will have a sleepover at my in-laws so we can all get settled once we're home.
Our hospital also has strict restrictions on children under 14 being in the hospital, so she won't come visit. I'm okay with that.
