I don't typically Nest from work, but I just need some help today! For the past two weeks (if not more), Erica has been waking up screaming at some point during the night. This is not typical at all from her, so we just started putting her in our bed. (At 2:30am, that was easiest since she'd fall right asleep!). We've brought her to the Dr. twice in the last week and she's had a cold, but no ear infections and I don't think she's teething. She did have a temp last week for a day, but that's gone. She's incredibly happy during the day and nap time is going fine. She goes to bed fine and goes to sleep on her own - she just wakes up around 12:00 now. We can rock her back to sleep, but as soon as we put her in her crib, the screaming starts. DH thinks she looks scared. The last couple of nights we've been letting her cry for a little while (before it never took more than 2 minutes to calm herself down). Now she'll cry for at least 10 minutes with no sign of letting up before we go in. The Dr. suggested Tylenol and we've been doing that...but I'm scared of using that as a "crutch" (if that makes sense).
Sorry for the rambling - I'm going on about 3 and half hours of sleep. I'm just wondering if any of you have any thoughts. Could it be nightmares? Even though it's been every night for more than two weeks? Would you continue tylenol/motrin if she's screaming? Any other thoughts?
Thanks in advance - and sorry so long!
Re: Can anyone offer sleep help?
Are you certain she is awake? My friend's son wakes up screaming(screaming, standing in crib, tears going down his cheeks) but he actually isn't awake. https://www.babycenter.com/0_night-terrors-why-they-happen-and-what-to-do-about-them_64971.bc
On the other hand, if she is just waking up could she be getting too much sleep during the day?
