Highchair Recommendations?

We received the Chicco Polly Highchair as a gift.  I was reading reviews for it online and it doesn't come highly recommended (main complain was taking the tray on/off.

I think we may return it for another one.  Any recommendations?

Re: Highchair Recommendations?

  • If a booster works for you, I recommend a Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster. It will be the only one you will ever need and it is super easy to use and clean.

I second this.  We don't have lots of room for a high chair, so we just went the booster route.  It's been really easy to use and also easy to take places if needed.

We have this chair and love it, especially when we go out. The only problem is that it didn't work for us as a first chair. DS didn't sit up unassisted when he started eating, so I needed a chair that allowed for a little bit of a recline. This particular one does not recline, so it was not a good idea/impossible for me to feed him in it. We got one of these instead: Fisher Price Space Saver chair: https://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&tag=mozilla-20&index=blended&link_code=qs&field-keywords=Fisher%20Price%20space%20saver&sourceid=Mozilla-search . It's inexpensive, easy to set-up/break-down, easy to clean, and the tray fits in our dishwasher too.

  • We have a Baby Trend high chair we got on Craigslist, similar to this.

Coincidentally my mom got the same model on CL for her house.  We like that it's nice and sturdy and the tray is large.  My aunt and uncle have the Space Saver and we found the tray too small and flimsy in comparison (though if you aren't used to another tray, it probably wouldn't bother you).

  • We LOVE the FP Space Saver!

It works all the way through as a booster, it doesn't take up a lot of space, and we use it sitting on the floor too, in the kitchen, when he's having a snack or something. LOVE it!

  • We have the Graco Blossom and it is a 4 in 1 seat.  We LOVE IT!  It is easy to use, easy to clean, the tray fits in the dishwasher and most importantly Z is comfortable and safe it it.

  • We had a Baby Trend brand high chair.  I liked how adjustable it was. It has a recline when the kid doesn't have great neck control but wants to start solids, you can adjust the height up or down and I loved that there was an insert tray for easy cleaning. The tray has a quick release under it. It is easy to take off but harder to put back on because it has to be perfectly lined up.

I agree that high chairs take up a lot of room. At 2.5 years old we just got rid of ours and I feel like I got my kitchen back. But then again, we didn't just have one, we had two!  Hahaha! Now we're using booster seats and that works well because of their height.

  • We have a Graco one (I think!) that's a full, regular high chair that she used for the first several months. We started solids around 4ish months so she needed the support of a standard high chair.

Around 6-7 months (again, I think!) we started using this chair:

We tote it around with us everywhere, and it's the only high chair we use at home. We just keep it strapped to one of the kitchen chairs and it doesn't take up any extra space and we're not dragging a highchair out 3-4 times a day (on the weekends). Clean up is super easy, too.

We have this one and the antilop from ikea. I was drawn to the antilop because it can be pulled up so easily to the table & is super easy to clean?thoroughly.?Plus its doesnt scream 'baby' - i like that. Not to mention its practically PENNIES!
