Croup SUCKS!!! REALLY SUCKS!!!
So we spent most of the night on a blow up mattress in our guest bathroom with the shower going until the hot water ran out. Wait 2 hours of coughing and moaning for the water heater to refill and repeat. I feel so bad. Her Pedi says we are doing all the right things for her and she took her last does of steriods today. Anyone have any experience with this and any tricks other than the hot shower and taking them out in the cold air?
SO......TIRED.....NEEDS.....SLEEP.

I don't know alot about Croup. Is it that Evie just keeps coughing and coughing? How do you know its the Croup versus a regular cold?
I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but what about giving her something to help her sleep, like tylenol or ibuprofen? Or is it important that she is awake to cough?
Sorry you aren't getting much sleep. I don't know how I would make it not getting any sleep all night.
I'm not sure that there's much else you can do. Hopefully the steroids really start helping. I hope she starts feeling better soon!
When is the last time you talked to the Pedi? If she's still so bad and has had the last dose of steroids you might ask about staying on them longer. Or maybe they could give her a dose of injected steroids at the office?
The nebulizer treatment we used in the ER sometimes was racemic epinephrine. It helped to decrease some of the swelling. I'm not sure if this is something they Rx for home use or not, but you could ask about it.
If they seem like they're not listening to you and you're still concerned, I would ask to bring her into the office today so they can physically see her and examine her.
I hope she gets better soon. Croup does suck.
