FET protocol

I cant seem to remember what the protocol is for a frozen transfer...i got my period friday and went for my blood/sono this morning.  Instead of waiting for them to tell me this afternoon I figured I would come ask my nestie girls.  Is it straight to progestorone?  And how long till the transfer?

After 4 IVF Cycles, 2 Fresh and 5 FET, My son Michael was born after a FET on 10/17/10. Lucky #7!!!!
TTC #2 ~ FET scheduled for 7/10/12

Re: FET protocol

  • It varies by doctor, but I had an estring (vaginal ring), did estrogen shots for a couple weeks, then added the progesterone shots a little before the transfer.  Took the baby aspirin, antibiotic, and steroid just like for fresh cycle.  Continued the shots and kept the ring until pregnancy test.

  • I just started my FET last week and am on estrace right now.  I am little bit different (don't ovulate and thin lining, so I started all of this on CD 38)

But if I would have gotten AF then it would have been estrace from CD 1-CD14, go in for b/w and u/s and if all is good continue with estrace but add progesterone and then doxcycline before transfer and transfer on CD 21.

I have heard so many different protocols from others on the board though, so it totally depends on your RE

    good luck!!!

  • We are doing BCP's overlapping with Lupron, then estrogen, the progesterone.  It seems like it's about 3 weeks from the time I started estrogen to FET, with progesterone starting however many days old your embryos were when frozen (for example, in my case that is 6 days).  Estrogen and progesterone continue at least through beta. GL to you!
After 3 years, 3 losses, and 3 IVF's, our little girls have arrived! Lilypie Premature Baby tickers Zoo
  • I started estrace on CD2 and then added in PIO 5 days before transfer.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

This sounds like mine too...about 5-6 weeks total.

  • Mine was Lupron immediately after AF for week 1 and week 2. Estrace 2 pills during week1, 4 pills during week two, 6 pills during week 3.

Transfer to occur in week 4. One week before transfer, PIO injection and continue Estrace 6 pills per day.

After the transfer, continue on Estrace 6 pills per day, and PIO every night for two weeks util the Beta test.
