Does anyone know how this works in Baltimore? I've gone on a couple of sites but they haven't listed any hospitals in MD that take cord blood donations.

Ask your OB. I looked into this 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my first and all I could find was places that come to pick it up but I would have had to pay for it. I thought it was ridiculous that you have to pay to donate something!!

My OB gave me information to call, however when I did, they told me that they had enough donors for February, so i was turned away. Sounds like, you call and they send you a collection kit that you take to the hospital, then the hospital staff complete the deal dn it is picked up my UPS. that is all there is, that is if you are accepted. Good luck! I was totally bumed
I looked into this last year and found a place (it was either PA or Delaware based) and my hospital in Annap was just out of their span off coverage. They have to have transport time fall within a window of time. I think I may of found another place that would do it but by then it I was too far along.
my ob or hospital had no info for me. I had done alot of online research and calling around to get the limited info I did find. Good Luck!
Re: public cord blood donations?
Check out this website, but you have to make the decision before your 34th week.
