  • My BFF has a DD born in 9/08 and she's due again in July...she was diagnosed with PCOS years ago and was told she wouldn't be able to conceive a child after the age of 26 (she'll be 30 this year). She had been seeing an endocrinologist and was going to get tested to make sure she actually has PCOS (there are other hormonal disorders that can mimick PCOS but don't affect your fertility) and then found out she was expecting DC#2 so had to call off the test! You might want to look into getting tested to make sure you actually have PCOS (get your hormones tested). GL with your TTC!

I definitely think another professional opinion is needed because it sounds like those are conflicting opinions IMO. I wish you the best of luck!

  • I was dx'd with PCOS when we were TTC #2. I actually got pg on my own twice, but m/c'd both pregnancies. From my last m/c to when I got pg with DD, it was a year- I went almost 6 months w/out a period after my m/c, and when I went into the dr to figure out why, wound up getting the PCOS dx after a lot of bloodwork/ultrasounds and discussion of my medical history. We tried 4 cycles of Clomid, and got pg on the last one (obviously!). I figure I got pregnant 3 times on my own, and once with help- if we were planning on another, it would happen, eventually. Thank goodness I'm done with TTC forever- DH is getting snipped tomorrow, as a matter of fact!
  • YEP!  We tried for about 18 months before our first was conceived and I had been diagnosed with PCOS during that time... we conceived our second DD when our first was almost 3 months old.. a BIG SURPRISE!!!  When they tell you that you are most fertile right after you just had a child... well, they are right!

  • I have PCOS and just had baby #2.  I was diagnosed in 2007 after TTC for 2 years.  I was put in metforim and then we added Clomid before getting pg with DS1.  Fast forward to him being a year old and we decided it was time to TTC again, I had just weaned him and we were going to give it 4 months before going back to the RE.  We got pg the first month much to our shock and I just had DS2 3 weeks ago!  So, in my experience the second time was much easier.  My symptoms were not as bad after having DS1 either, my cycles were regular length and consistent and I didn't seem to have the insulin resistance issues from before becoming pg either, it was much easier to maintain and lose weight,  Hope your experience is as good as mine.
