Thank you! It is really frustrating at times. But my son was in the NICU for awhile after he was born and so didn't breastfeed. It was important to me that he still received breast milk though. I don't know how much longer I am going to be able to keep it up though!

I second the thank you. My son and I had issues with BF and couldn't find a lactation consultant who could help. EP'ing has not only allowed me to continue feeding him EBM, but has been a great lesson in the patience and commitment required to be a parent.
I agree! Go EP-ing moms. You are awesome! I seriously hate pumping. Like, HATE it. But I do it so that I will have reserve milk whenever I need it. Bravo to you ladies who do it all day long.
For me, EP's is so much easier that breastfeeding! I'm on my own schedule, I only have to do it 4 or 5 times a day total, and it only takes 10-15 minutes. It's so much better than holding a screaming baby at my boob praying that today she won't struggle too hard until we are both overly frustrated, and I'm not a "slave" to her schedule. I was blessed with more than enough milk that I can EBF (50oz/day), and I can share night duty with my DH. Seriously, all you pumpers that get up in the middle of the night to do it - THAT would be hard.
Thank you ) It is a lot of extra work, but I'm glad it worked out for us. It was important for my DD to have BM and I feel fortunate enough that I produce enough to give her EBM and have a freezer stash.
I EP'ed for the first 6 months until we started some solids, but I never felt like it was that much work at all. It was so much easier than trying to get DD to focus on BFing long enough to empty the breast. (If I BF'ed her, I'd still have to pump just to make sure I emptied out and refilled enough for next time!)
Also, it made overnight feedings a million times easier because DH and I could split them, and each of us always got at least a 5 or 6-hr stretch of sleep.
I still pump, but only 2x/day now and each time is a power-pump session. DD gets BM first thing in the morning (6oz) and about 3-5oz at every meal. She also STTN 8pm-7am.
