I've been super lucky, and this is the first time DD is suffering from diaper rash (the painful looking kind anyways). In the past, I'd use Desitin if I noticed the smallest amount of redness, and it improved immediately. We are currently on Day 3 of a diaper rash that looks painful. I've tried Desitin and baby powder, but DD's diaper rash is not going away. What products have you had success with. TIA.
Re: What to use for diaper rash ?
Triple Paste! My DD has only had a really, nasty diaper rash 1x and we also gave her oatmeal baths while using the triple paste. You can buy a box of the oatmeal soak and it comes in packets. I know that Aveeno makes it but we just bought the store brand at our local grocery store.
For regular diaper changes, I always apply original Desitin as a barrier and skin protectant.
I hope that your daughter starts to feel better soon!
On a regular basis I use California Baby and she doesn't get diaper rash often (maybe 3 times in her life).
When it gets bad, after I wipe her, I let it air dry completely and then use Triple Paste. Just load it up...it prevents moisture from penetrating the skin.
I prefer generic Butt Paste that you can get at CVS. I never had good luck with Triple Paste.
