moms who drive a sedan

Which convertible carseat do you use?

I have a medium-size 4-door.  I was all set to buy a Britax Marathon and then saw in the reviews that a couple of people commented it was too big for their car i.e. it technically fits, but the drivers seat is crunched up into the steering wheel.

So just wonderng if you drive a sedan which seat do you use and is it a comfortable fit?

TIA!

  • Hey there, I don't have a medium sized sedan but I do have a Britax Marathon.  You are welcome to see how it fits in your car.  We can find a time this week to get together and to also check it out!

  • I have a 4dr Honda Civic and the Britax seats were just too big.

We have an Alpha Omega Elite and like it. While it's not without it's faults (like I wish it reclined farther although that will create space issues for the front-side passenger), I'm happy with it overall.

  • Honda Accord

    2 Britax

Did just fine when rear facing but we're also on the short side.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

This may be the problem, and I'm 5'9" and DH is 6'2". Even with the infant car seat my seat is too forward for my liking. Sad

  • uh oh.  I just bought a marathon and a boulevard ( online so haven't tried them yet) and I drive a Ford Fusion. DH drives a trooper so it shouldn"t be an issue....well, hopefully it will work.

  • My husband is 6' and drives a new Accord.  We have two Britax Boulevards in the back, rear-facing, and I believe those are slightly bigger than the Marathons, and he has no trouble with his seat.  But he isn't one to want to have his seat way back, either.  (He says he likes to "be in the game."  LOL.)
