Mah beebee has a viral infection. Looked like congestion on the outside, but when heard with the stethescope he's got a raspiness. Perscribed the saline drops (which we were already using) and baby asthma inhaler.
Good news to all ya mommies with sicky babies- saline drops don't always require an aspirator shoved up the nose afterward. I was doing this, but the doc said don't- that can make it worse. Only use it if you see a blockage in the nose and the drops will do all the work. I followed this advice and saw an improvement in his breathing and saved many, many tears. And my little guy is feeling a thousand times better - breathing well, wanting to play, play, play and eating like a champ.
