Figured out tummy time! PIP

Usually DD hates tummy time.  The minute we set her down (if she's not asleep) on her tummy she screams.  We finally figured out how to get her on her tummy without crying.  She loves looking at her reflection (and marking it with her drool).  Along with that, DH got a great shot!

Thanks!  DH is an amateur photographer so we have a lot of props and photography equipment.  We used lexan under her with black muslin as the background.  Two strobes (about 30 degrees camera left and right), no modifiers, on stands 12" above lens height.  Camera is a 5D with a 24-70mm f/2.8L lens (B&W circular polarizer).  Strobes set on 1/4 power, cactus triggered.  ISO 50, 34mm focal length, f/4.0 aperture, 1/160 second exposure.

I believe the piece we used for this picture was 4ft by 2ft.  We purchased it from VIP plastics.  Their prices are good but they take a while to ship.

  • Oh she is adorable!  I'll have to try that with our mirror sometime, just to get a cute shot like that one.

  • Super cute!

And for the rest of you... a black sheet and some plexi-glass from Lowes set opposite a window or doorwall will do the trick!

  • your LO is gorgeous!

  • Too cute! She is holding her head up so well!

Jake is doing the same thing (I think for them to hold their heads a 90 degree angle is advanced at 2.5 months). They are growing up fast.
